Kapolda Kaltara Ready for Clarification in Bodyguard’s Death Case

JAKARTA — The Chief of Police of North Kalimantan (Kaltara), Inspector General Pol Daniel Aditya, has expressed his readiness to undergo clarification by the Internal Affairs Division of the Indonesian National Police (Propam Polri) regarding the case of the death of his personal bodyguard, Brigadier Setyo Herlambang.

Daniel disclosed this openness when confirmed by reporters on Thursday (28/9/2023).

He emphasized that the Indonesian National Police has been transparent from the outset of this incident, and the leadership of the police force has committed to investigating this case objectively and transparently.

Daniel is prepared to provide information if needed to clarify this matter.

However, as of now, there has been no examination conducted on Daniel in the context of this case. The Head of Public Relations Division of the Indonesian National Police, Inspector General Pol Sandi Nugroho, revealed that an examination will be conducted by Propam Polri if there is a need to obtain information from Daniel as Setyo’s superior.

Previously, Brigadier Setyo Herlambang was found dead at the official residence of the Chief of Police of North Kalimantan on Friday, September 22, 2023, with a severe gunshot wound to the left chest.

The autopsy results revealed that the cause of death was severe bleeding due to the gunshot wound.
