SurabayaPostNews — President Joko Widodo has urged that the completion of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) should be no later than the first semester of 2024. This statement was made by Jokowi during the “PSN’s Six-Year Anniversary” commemoration in Jakarta.
This implies that the construction of the Eco City project on Rempang Island must also be completed since it falls under the category of PSN projects.
“Let’s make sure none of these projects stall,” President Jokowi emphasized.
The President also cautioned the government officials to seek innovative solutions in addressing on-ground issues related to PSN development projects.
“Do not resort to repressive measures against the public because, fundamentally, PSN aims to benefit the people,” he added.
Jokowi mentioned that over the past eight years, various National Strategic Projects have been undertaken throughout Indonesia.
“During this six-year period, we have completed the construction of 161 PSNs, providing employment to up to 11 million people,” he stated.
He believes that the presence of PSN infrastructure has helped boost Indonesia’s competitiveness on the international stage.
Indonesia’s competitiveness in the IMD World Competitiveness Index has risen from 44th place to 34th place in 2022.
“This 10-place improvement is the highest in the world, and one of the contributing factors is the completion of numerous infrastructure projects,” he concluded.
